EMDrugs is a specialized resource on medications used in the emergency department, designed to support rapid clinical decision-making at the point of care.
We cover indications, dosing, cautions, and updated literature reviews.
Our objective is to provide high-quality pharmacology content tailored to Emergency Medicine. All content is written and edited by specialist emergency physicians, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
EMDrugs is intended for emergency physicians and trainees, clinical pharmacologists, general practitioners, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other professionals involved in emergency care.
EMDrugs was created in Chile 🇨🇱 in 2021 by Dr. Cristóbal Sáa, an emergency physician accredited as a specialist in Chile and certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG, USA). He leads the project as Editor-in-Chief and writes content alongside Dr. Joaquín Chuecas, an emergency physician and clinical toxicologist.
Both are specialists in emergency medicine in Chile and currently work at Clínica Alemana de Santiago and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, respectively.
EMDrugs content is primarily written by Dr. Sáa and Dr. Chuecas, with contributions and peer review from emergency physicians and medical specialists. It is supported by more than 1,400 scientific references and based on independent narrative reviews of the medical literature.
Since the launch of its first website at the inaugural FLAME Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2024, EMDrugs has grown to reach hundreds of users worldwide.
